Samsung Q800T Soundbar
Samsung has recently introduced its mid-range Dolby ATMOS and dts:X soundbar in India that features a 3.1.2-channel speaker layout , eARC HDMI support, 4K pass-through, slim and minimalistic design, built-in Alexa support, Q-Symphony support for better sound output with compatible Samsung TVs and more.
The device prices at Rs 53,900 and for the price it has a lot to offer.
Design
The setup consists of two part- the soundbar unit and a subwoofer unit. The soundbar unit features a slim, minimalistic design and compact form factor. The subwoofer is also simple and minimalistic in terms of looks and dimensions. Another good thing about the design is the height of the soundbar. It does not cover the screen or the infrared sensor at all when the TV is mounted on the table stand.
The front of the device has a metallic-grille that surrounds the sides. Beneath that it houses three forward firing speaker with Acoustic Beam holes along with a tiny LCD screen that shows all the details about the soundbar. The top houses two top-firing speakers with capacitive touch controls.
There are two HDMI ports. out of which one is HDMI eARC compatible and allows 4K pass through.
Sound Quality
The centre speaker produces 20 watts sound output and it has wide-range tweeters that produce clear, loud and crisp vocals. The good part here is that it doesn't get overshadowed by the other speakers or woofers. The front left and right speakers produce 60 watts each and are mid-range drivers with tweeters. The mids surround from both the channels are pretty noticeable while watching movies or listening to a song. In addition to that, the front also includes Acoustic Beam holes that add a total of 40 watts of output.
The 8 inch bass reflex subwoofer produces 160 watts and can produce frequencies as low as 35Hz. It produces a loud and punchy output. The lack of rear speakers though limits the listening experience, but Samsung has added the SWA-9000S rear speaker support with the soundbar for a much better listening experience.
There is a lack of dedicated graphical interface for device setup. Using the remote control is easy and the remote offers almost everything.
